Introduction
This assessment is designed to ensure operatives are up-to-date with regulations and can demonstrate the correct procedures for combustion analysis and commissioning/servicing of commercial pressure jet oil appliances (appliances of 50kw heat input and above).

Course objectives/key benefits
The aim of this assessment is to ensure that the operative has a solid background and enough practical knowledge in oil to perform the everyday tasks of a competent commercial oil operative.
Who is the course aimed at?
Any experienced oil operatives, or GAS SAFE registered heating system operatives wishing to undertake commercial pressure-jet oil commissioning or servicing (PLEASE NOTE: Proof of previous qualifications will be required prior to the start of the course)

- System design including Part L1 of the Building Regulations
- Thermostatic controls
- Gauges and overfill alarms
- Oil contamination problems
- Maintenance of boilers
- Oil burners
- Selection of nozzles
- British Standards
- Ventilation
- Flues
- Commissioning and servicing of commercial oil boilers
- Using electronic combustion analysers
Course duration
One day should be sufficient to complete the OFTEC 201 assessment.
Training Method
This is not a training course (assessment only).
Anyone requiring training needs to consider undertaking the OFT50 course for new entrants or OFTEC 101 training course as applicable.
Assessment
Practical assessment and multiple-choice question paper.
Course outcome/qualification
Candidates who successfully complete the assessment will be eligible to join the OFTEC competent persons scheme.

Candidates will need up-to-date OFTEC Books 1, 2, 3 & 4.
